Pescaglia

Pescaglia

P

escaglia is a small village that stands on the Apuan Alps, in the Serchio valley. Its landscapes are waiting to be explored and offer endless emotions and suggestions. Illustrious figures such as the composer Giacomo Puccini was fascinated by this land and here he sought his own music among the sounds of nature, spending pleasant summer retreats.
The Pescaglia area has always been closely connected to the rural world and the Chestnut Museum, located in Colognora, illustrates this well, together with the activities offered at the preserved Menicone Mill. In addition to these two attractions, in Celle dei Puccini there is the Museum dedicated to the great Maestro Giacomo Puccini, located right in the summer and childhood residence of the well-known composer. Another great attraction of the area is the Theater in Vetriano which, with its 50 square meters of stalls, has earned the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest public theater in the world.
